Corrugated Xchange: Paperboard
Corrugated Xchange is a five-part series of programs designed with converters and diemakers in mind. Featuring a panel of corrugated experts who provide answers for the most challenging issues you face, Part 3 covers "Paperboard."
Various types of paperboard are used in the corrugated world. This presentation will focus on all of the paperboard grades and will cover how paper board is manufactured. Three main coated paperboard substrates will be discussed including, Solid Bleached Sulphate (SBS), Coated Unbleached Kraft (CUK), and Coated Recycled Board (CRB). The program will cover how the paperboard fibers are prepared, how the paperboard web is created, how the paperboard web is dried, and for the coated grades, how the paperboard web is coated and made into rolls.
